Keith studied a BTEC National Award in Blacksmithing and Metalwork at the Moreton Morrell campus of Warwickshire College, tutored by Master Blacksmith Michelle Parker, and qualified with a distinction in summer 2009.

Keith's college final project, the Steampunk Clock, achieved a 3rd place in the Contemporary Metalwork Class and a runner up prize in the inter-college competition. In the photo on the right, Keith Gabriel, the Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, can be seen presenting the award at the Royal Show 2009.
